Reference No:
C DBSS/5/1/8
Dates:
Oct 1966
Description:
This bulletin was produced monthly by Sissons and was a way of reaching the employees. This edition includes a discussion about the improvements to the staff parking facilities, lunch time film shows, the procedure for reporting accidents at work and includes advertisements for social activities under the heading 'Welfare and Social Notes.' In this edition there is also a poem by Miss K Farmer of London about the 'Men with Plank' advertisement and an archive item about a lighthearted letter received by the company in 1943 from six sandblasters from the Sergeant's Mess of a battalion serving in the desert. The letter was addressed merely to Hall's Distemper Ltd., London, England and asked how much it would cost in time and distemper to paint the desert green!
