- Except for the scrapbook of news items, the remaining items were collected by Edward Ingram of Reighton Hall whilst preparing his book on the Maister family. Ingram received copies of letters from Hugh Maister, a descendant of the family living in Cape Town, South Africa. The copies of the Grimston letters were made by Ingram from originals held by Lady Waechter de Grimston of Hall Garth, Goodmanham.
