Mr Walter Mawer's district comprised of Driffield, Bridlington, Filey, Scarborough, Robin Hood's Bay, Whitby, Malton, Norton and Pickering, Doncaster, Mexborough, Rawmarsh, Rotherham, Wombwell, Wath-on-Dearne, Barnsley; the counties of Lincoln, Norfolk, Derby, Leicester,and Northampton, the north east corner of Cambridgeshire and Lowestoft in Suffolk.His average yearly mileage was 5000 miles plus band tours. Walter Mawer was the editor of Ashore and Afloat and the Helmsman for over 20 years and he wrote numorous booklets and leaflets about the Society including the book, Adventures in Sympathy published in 1935
