William Summers, ex-trawler engineer and employed with the Hull Fishing Vessel Owners' Association, Ltd as a member of the St. Andrew's Dock Fire Fighting Organisation. Recommended for his action when, on 8 May 1941, working on an oil boat at the east end of St. Andrews's Dock, a hostile aircraft dropped a bomb on Pickering and Haldane's Stores.
