Tisha B'Av service details.

Coronation Forest: another 156 trees (total 412). On target to reach 1,000 trees to name a 'Kingston upon Hull Grove' (not Hull Grove as pointed out by Alan Field in a letter to the Rabbi). Appeal for other bodies to plant trees in the names of their respective organisations as have Bnai Brith Lodge (15) and Hull Ajex (15). Children of the Talmud Torah are contributing and hope to gift 15 trees by the end of term.

Defending the Jewish Name: Mr. Myer Wolff talk last Sabbath Oneg on his work and experiences as a member of the Board of Deputies' Defence Committee and Chairman of the the local Public Relations Committee defending the name of Jewry during tense days of war and the period immediately prior to the establishment of Israel. Host Mr. Mark Black (best wishes to Mrs Black and new baby Lucille); audience represented all three congregations in town suggesting desire of the 'younger element' for harmony and unity.

Tomorrow: Mincha at 7:30pm followed by Oneg Shabbat. Guest speaker Mr. S.R. Sheffrin (Hon. Treasurer of the local branch of the Anti-T.B. League for Israel) on 'The fight against tuberculosis in Israel'. Hostes by Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Lipman.
