Subseriescontains subject based research files created by Mr Jack Lennard during the course of amateur history research. Mr Lennard was a prominent member of the Jewish Community in Hull being involved in the committees, councils, and governing boards of various local organisations including the Hull Hillel Foundation, the Wilberforce Council, the Hull Jewish Representative Council, the Campaign for Soviet Jewry, and the Communal Chevra Kadisha. When the Hull Western and Hull Old Hebrew Congregations amalgamated in the 1990s Mr Lennard purchased the Hull Western Synagogue building on behalf of the whole community and converted it into a short-lived museum. It is in the context of his role as administrator of this museum that some of his research files were created. Mr Lennard died in 1995 leaving his papers to the Hull Jewish Community.

Papers within the files include research notes, article extracts, press cuttings, correspondence, photographs, etc.
