Many of the names within the collection of letters may also be referenced through the personal name index in the History Centre searchroom. Material related to many similar concerns within the petitions at C TCC/2 can be found under the reference C WM. The Bench Books and Council Minutes may give details of what precipitated the petition, and the Corporation's response to such petitions. Reports to the council, if retained, were usually kept with the records of the relevant committee and can be found within the council minutes, which are availiable to view in the searchroom. For later years after 1931, they can be accessed through the reference C TCR/1. Details of records relating to various individuals can be accessed through the catalogue. For example the papers of George Baslington (1904-1989) can be located at C DFGB while those of Frederick Holmes (1890-1978) can be found at L DFH.

Additional records to those at TCC/6 relating to the hospitals and the Municipal Charities can be found under the references C DMC,C WC, C WG, C WJ, C WL and C WZ. Records for the Hull Charterhouse can be found at C WT. However there are many other references to the hospitals and charities mentioned in various other collections which can be accessed through the online and searchroom catalogues. This also applies to records and books relating to the Hull Dock Company. Records for the Water Bailiffs can be found at C WB. Records related to Royal visits can be located with C TCRE.

The History Centre holds many records relating to the docks within the Borough Records (C BR), Council Minutes (C TCM), Hull Docks (C DPD), Quarter Sessions, (C CQP) as well as those within other general collections such as C DMM/63 and C DMX. Reference L387.1 conatins a large number of books and other materials related to the Dock Company. A search through the online and card index catalogue will give more details.
