Records of the Hull City Council Cattle Market (Special) Committee

Dates:
1899-1900

Description

Admin History:
In June 1899, the City Council's Markets Committee introduced new charges, which proved unpopular with local farmers and butchers. As a consequence of this dispute, in August 1899, the council decided to suspend the charges and establish a committee to consider the regulation and management of the cattle market as a whole. The committee would collect any information they considered relevant and report back to council the result of their enquiries with their recommendations. This it did in March 1900 and the committee was wound up as a consequence.
Description:
Apart from records within the main committee series and any associated reports, there does not appear to be any additional records for the Cattle Market (Special) Committee
