In April 1889 Hull Town Council established the Fisheries Committee to put into force the powers of the Sea Fisheries Regulations Act, 1888, and to take such steps and incur such expenditure as my be reasonably necessary for the purpose. It was wound up after it presented its report to the council in June 1891.
