Records of the Humber Foreshore Committee of the Hull Town Council

Dates:
1862-1864

Description

Admin History:
Appointed from members of the Property Committee, the Humber Foreshore Committee was set up on 24 April 1862. It would negotiate with Her Majesty's Commissioners of Woods, Forests and Land Revenues and settle any claims, either personally or by correspondence, between them regarding an area of land on the River Humber foreshore. The location of the land in question was on the south west side of Wellington Street, Hull, and on both sides of Lime Kiln Creek. Having reported back to the full council, the land was purchased in 1864 and the committee wound up accordingly.
