Records of the Hull Town Council Shipping Dues Committee

Dates:
1850-1861

Description

Admin History:
In February 1857 Hull Town Council had intimated, due to potential changes suggested by parliament, that there was a need to revive the committee to look at the issue of dues it was owed by shipping coming into the port. This committe had met before as the Port Dues Committee in the early 1850s. The new committee would become the Shipping Dues Committee (but it was also known as the Differential Dues Committee). Having reported back, the committee was wound up in August 1861.
