Dates:
1935-1971

Description

Admin History:
Created by the City Engineer's Department of the City and County of Kingston upon Hull during the Second World War and up to 1971. In 1941, Air Raid Precautions became officially known as Civil Defence though both terms were used throughout the war.
Description:

These records include volunteer services, the provision and fitting out of shelters and depots, and the protection of Corporation property.

The item titles have been taken from the front of each of file. The files have been kept in their original order and are not, therefore, in strict chronological order.

Where there is a run of district files on a particular subject, please note that the complete run does not always exist.
