Description

Admin History:

Thomas R. Ferens (1847-1930), businessman and philanthropist gave the site and the 12 almshouses on Holderness Road, to the corporation of Hull. An additional 8 more were built near by in 1956. A further 12 flats were built in Staveley Road and 12 in Barham Road in 1953. Between 1998 and 2000 the charity scheme was amalgamated into the Pickering and Ferens Homes.
