The Amy Johnson Cup of Courage, also known as the Cup of Valour, was created in 1930. It is awarded to any young person from the Hull area, who displays courage of the highest order. The cup was paid for from the gold sovereigns presented to Amy Johnson by school children in Sydney, Australia, after her historic flight.
