Contains papers relating to a case heard at York concerning a dispute over the supply of water to the lordship of Sculcoats from a ditch known as Julian Dike bringing spring water from Darringham well, Julian well, and other springs to Hull, with Gray acting as plaintiff on behalf of John Alred and Skarthe acting as a defendant on behalf of the Mayor and Burgesses of Hull. Papers include defendant's answers to Bill of Complaint, plaintiff's replication to defendant's answers, defendant's rejoinder to the plaintiff's replication, interrogatories and depositions of witnesses, and a summary of a charter granting water supply rights to Hull.
