Notice that a Court of Exchequer Commission issued 14 Jun 1638 regarding the reviewing of accounts and other books is to be held 1 Aug 1638 at the Sign of the George in Hull owned by Richard Mann, concerns in a case brought by the Attorney General against the Mayor and Burgess of Hull concerning the maintenance of the castle and blockhouses at Hull given to the custody of the Mayor and Burgesses by Edward VI in 1552. Note that the notice is signed by Christopher Ayres and Philip Dacell.
