Thomas Peck, Overseer for Humber Ward; Clarkson Gleadow, Overseer of Austin Ward; Robert Hepple, Overseer for Trinity Ward; William Bellwood Moor, Overseer for Whitefriar Ward; William Whitehead, Overseer for St. Mary's Ward; Thomas Wilson, Overseer for North Ward; John Thornhill, Overseer for North Myton Ward; Thomas Weddle, Overseer for South Myton Ward are to authorise and require several Church Wardens and Overseers above named to assess the sum of £4,335, signed by Robt. Raikes, Mayor & John Barkworth (2 copies). Also included is appointment of the sum to be raised upon several wards in the town for the maintenance of the poor from 1 May 1832 to 1 Aug 1832 and inlcudes sums leived against each ward, dated 29 May 1832 and signed by Wm. M. [Morrer]; W.B. Day; Wm. Wetwand; Clarkson Gleadow; Thos. Wilson; John Thornhill; Thos. Keddey; Thos. Peck; Wm. Whitehead; Robt. Hepple & William B. Moors. Also attached are two letters; the first letter to Thomas Peck, Overseer of the Poor of Humber Ward and William Dickinson, Assistant Overseer, pursuant to the directions of an Act of Parliament intitled 'An act for the better maintenance, employment and regulation of the Poor of the Town of Kingston upon Hull, and for repairing or rebuilding the Workhouse there'. Dated, 2 Jun 1832 and signed by Robt. Raikes Jnr., Mayor and R.W. Moxon. The second appointing Wm. Dickinson for collection rates and Wm. Henderson, signed by John Moxon, 2 Jun 1832.
