William Green was the son of William Green of Wakefield, a carpenter. Elizabeth married William Green around 1825 at a High Church in Hull. William left her around 1838 to go to sea, never to return. There is a statement from William Elliott, of Wakefield, a corn dealer who says that William Green was his apprentice from the ages of 13years - 20 years as a Waterman. (see also C CQB/215/506-507)
