Between May and August 2006 Thomas Boyd donated a large collection of material relating to the Boyd Line Ltd, along with a number of other organisations to the University of Hull via Blaydes House. This collection consisted of approximately 49 boxes which were numbered by Mr Boyd. The original university accession number was 2006/14 but this became 17/67 when the collection was transferred to the City Archives collection in December 2017. At the same time the City Archives received a separate donation from Mr Boyd consisting of ships plans, which were given the accession number 17/64. In 2018, another accrual was received from Mr Boyd but was not accessioned at the time, this was retrospectively done and accessioned in 2024/2025 and given the number 25/04.
