- Description:
Thomas Sissons (1808-1892) first son of Thomas senior, joined Sissons, Weddle & Co. in Hull in 1821 (aged 13). He travelled for the company in his early years, based in Gainsborough, where he was a member of the Masonic Lodge All Saints Chapter. In pre-railway days he used to drive three thousand miles a year in his open horse-drawn gig. He became a co-partner of Sissons Brothers from 1836 until he died in 1892 (aged 84).
