- Description:
Harold Helmsing Sissons JP (1869-1926), son of David Waddington Sissons, joined Sissons Brothers in 1886 (aged 17) following schooling at Dresden in Germany. A man of quiet tastes and likable personality, he was the founder President of the National Federation of Associated Paint, Colour & Varnish Manufacturers of the United Kingdom from January 1912 to November 1913. He was also chairman of the Hull Paint and Colour Manufacturers Association, a member of the Hull Incorporated Chamber of Commerce and a member of the Hull Royal Infirmary Committee. He retired to Hampstead due to ill health and died aged 56 in Nov 1926.
