- Description:
Elizabeth Sissons (1823-1864) was the youngest daughter of paint and colour manufacturer Thomas Sissons and his wife, Elizabeth (nee Dove) and sister to Thomas Jonathan Dove, Mary, Robert, Christiana and Richard-all born in Sculcoates. In 1860 her eldest brother, Thomas (b. 1808) inherited the family business. Her son, Allan Twistleton Hall (1862-1916), invented and patented Hall's Distemper. This item includes some family history details on the back of the frame.
