- These notes were compiled by Anthony Sissons and were both typed and handwritten. They relate primarily to the links between the Sissons family and Jonathan Dove, R.N. On 14 Feb 1808 Thomas Sissons (1783-1867) married Elizabeth Dove (1783-1854). Elizabeth was the daughter of Jonathan Dove, an experienced Naval Officer who served his contry during the 7 years war, the war of American Independence and the Napoleonic Wars. The company, Sissons Brothers, was founded by Thomas and his bother, Richard Jennison both of Market Weighton. Jonathan Dove lived in Market Weighton by 1807 and it was there that Thomas no doubt met his future bride, Elizabeth
