Family history notes on the 'Chamberlin', 'Chamberlain', 'Chambellan', 'Chamberlen' and 'Eaton' families

- These include the will (in French) of Guillaume Chambellan together with a translation dated Feb 1582. Ethel Baxter married Harold H. Sissons. Her Mother, Elizabeth, was the daughter of Eleanor Eaton of Stamford and the Grandaughter of John and Sarah Chamberlen. Ethel and Harold named their 3rd child, Richard Chamberlen Sissons (1906). Included in this bundle is a picture of Mrs Baxter (nee Eaton), the Will of William Eaton, Doctor of Medicine, dated 1876 and 12 photographs (taken in the 1970's of the various houses and graves) and correspondence relating to Dr William Chamberlen, Great Uncle to Ethel Sissons, who lived at Adderbury House near Banbury and Dr Peter Chamberlain or 'Chamberlen' who lived at Woodham Mortimer Hall, Maldon, Essex from 1601-1683. It has been said that one of the Chamberlain family invented the obstetrical forceps. The instument was found under the floorboards in the house that Peter Chamberlain lived in several years after his death. Also included in this bundle is an article from 'The Pulse' dated 8 Sep 1973 about Hugh and Peter Chamberlain (both Doctors of Medicine), a plan of the Adderbury House Estate dated 22 Jul 1891 and an inventory of Isreal Chamberlin's household goods dated 22 Jun 1758 and a transcription of the will of Hugh Chamberlin dated 20 Jun 1709. Please note that it is not certain who compiled these notes on behalf of the Sisson's family, possibly Richard Chamberlain Sissons
