This roll of honour includes officers who have died in the service of their country, either in action, from wounds, or other causes directly incidental to the Great War. It includes Lieutenant N.L. Sissons of the East Yorkshire Regiment, son of Mr Harold Sissons who enlisted the day after the declaration of war. The Sphere, or The Sphere: An Illustrated Newspaper for the Home, was an illustrated weekly newspaper which began publication in London in 1900. Its founder and first editor, Clement Short, left his role as editor of The Illustrated London News to begin the publication of The Sphere. It was dedicated to world-wide reporting.
