Document by an unknown author suggesting the removal of three principal obstacles to the performance of prayer: Evil tempers, worldly affections and wandering thoughts. The author also suggests that one should watch over their conduct, their society and their mind. The document goes on to suggest that in order to supply wholesome food for the maintenance of a spiritual life, the following plain duties should be adhered to: Deeds of charity, pious books, religious conversation, regular attendance upon the various means of grace, frequent meditation upon spiritual truth and frequent aspirations of the heart towards God.
