- Some of the later letters are written to Edward Ingram from clergymen regarding the history of St Mary's Church, Lowgate. Others are from L.M. Stanewell, keeper of Hull' s records at the Guildhall. The earlier letters are written to John Bilson from various people with an interest in St Marys, Lowgate. John Bilson (18581943) is best known for his architectural research on the medieval period. All of the letters appear to give information concerning the personalities associated with St Mary's throughout history. There is a list of churchwardens from 1640-1848
