This volume records the events of Rupert Alec-Smith's Mayoral year. Rupert Alec-Smith was the founder of the Georgian Society for East Yorkshire. Edward Ingram and his partner, Francis Johnson were both members. They had a life-long association with both Alec-Smith and the Georgian Society. The two of them were invited to several events during the year by the Mayor and his wife. Invitations and menus for these occasions are in the back of this volume. There is also an invitation from the High Sheriff of Humberside, Mr Richard Marriott, to two events and an order of service dated 2nd May 1971 for Hessle Parish Church and the dedication of St Barnabas Chapel
