Minutes of a meeting of Hull Jewish Representative Council held 21 Jan 1974 at the Parkfield Centre, includes reference to question of amalgamation of synagogues being put on future agenda, application for membership by Hull Reform Group, request of Council of Manchester & Salford Jews to protest the Foreign Office against acceptance of proposed Egyptian Ambassador to this country, Board of Deputies emphasising need for tight security at Synagogues and other Jewish communal buildings, request by World Jewish Congress that the Council become affiliated to them, pro-Arab anti-Israel propaganda at the University to be raised at the Sheffield Conference of Provincial Councils, request for co-operation from President of the Central British Fund in creating a group of supporters in Hull, cost of each fortnightly edition of the Watchman' costing £40, subscribers to the Watchman numbering 470 in Jan 1974, work in relation to 'Soviet Jewry', appointment of Mr Eisner as assistant Shomer in relation to catering, kosher meals in hospitals, appeal to be launched by Mr R. Field in relation to extension of kitchen at the Parkfield Centre, grassing over of the Villa Place Cemetery by the local authority, comment by Mr R. Field that the town had 'no organisation for Jewish Children under thirteen years of age and decision to contact B'Nei Akivah who had once organised a group in Hull, typescript, unsigned.
