Description:
Letter sent from Bernard Levy as an alumnus of Pioneer 481 Chapter (Leeds) Aleph Zadik Aleph or AZA [the young men's branch of the BBYO] to Mr [Conrad?] Segelman. Mr Levy informs Mr Segelman of his interest in establishing an AZA Chapter in Hull, that he is to address the Hull B'Nai B'Rith Lodge re the establishment of such an organisation for Jewish Youth in Hull, that he has letters of support from BBYO headquarters in the USA promising support, and that the AZA in Leeds is 'very keen to see a fourth Chapter formed in Britain, typescript, signed. Note: A memorandum is attached to letter and reads 'The AZA was formed early in 1948 - I was the first 'President. Conrad. BBG (B'nai B'rith Girls) was also formed then & the first President was Barbara Hirsch.'
