- This seriescontains records of the Hull Committee responsible for organising an annual local appeal in support of the Joint Israel Appeal, formerly known as the United Palestine Appeal and also as the Joint Palestine Appeal. The United Palestine appeal was established by the efforts of Zionists worldwide in negotiation with the Israeli Government, with a view to providing financial help to Jews returning to Israel. The appeal was organised on a national basis with regional branches responsible for undertaking annual appeals. From the 1970s the Joint Palestine Appeal, the Kol Nidrei, and the Jewish National Fund were amalgamated under the Joint Israel Appeal.
