- This seriescontains records of the Hull Area Trades Advisory Council, whose inaugural meeting was held at the Beth Hamedrash of the Old Hebrew Congregation on Sunday 16 January 1944, with M.V. Gosschalke in the chair, and with Maurice Orbach as general secretary of the Trades Advisory Council, S.M. Jacobson as Trades Advisory Council Northern Area Organiser, Myer Wolff as Chairman of the Hull Jewish Co-ordinating Committee, and Herman Bush as Honorary Secretary of the same present. Operating under the auspices of the Board of Deputies of British Jews, the object of the Trades Advisory Council was the strengthening of goodwill amongst traders of all creeds and classes, the maintenance of commercial integrity, and the encouragement of conciliation and arbitration in trade disputes. Accounts of individual branches appear to have been audited by the main Council in London.
