The Grand Order of Israel Friendly Society was inaugurated in 1896 and had the aim of establishing a lodge in every with town or city ‘where our co-religionists reside’. Lodge 108 was one of several lodges in Hull and had been founded in 1922 by Jenny Zimmerman.
