Volume contains minutes of general meetings and AGMs of the Ladies Guild with [officers]. Business of meetings usually included the election of officers, election of members to the Committee, new members to the Guild, noting of thanks, congratulations, and condolences, reading of financial and other reports, notice of arrangements for celebration of festivals and upcoming events such as coffee mornings, jumble sales, advertisements to be placed in 'The Watchman', building matters. Includes: Suggestion from Mrs Bentley of the Western Synagogue Hall Committee suggesting the formation of a Joint Bridge Team 'to raise Funds and share proceeds between the two Halls', 4 May 1959; Attendance of Mrs Bentley and Mrs Lavine at Jews College, London, and their meeting the Chief Rabbi, 10 Nov 1959; The 'new Communal Rabbi' having lost his wife, and induction of Rabbi Cooper, 16 Dec 1959; Joint meeting 'with the two other ladies Guilds regarding the preparation of tea for the forthcoming Barmitzvah of Rabbi Cooper's son', 1 Feb 1960; Resignation of Mrs Levy as Secretary, 23 Feb 1960; Engagement of Miss Jean Robinson and Rabbi Cooper, 11 Jan 1961; Second operation undergone by Rev Willencyk, 13 June 1962; Social evening and presentation plaque to be commissioned for the Anlaby Park Bridge Circle in recognition of their services to the Guild over the 8 years since the Circle's formation, 20 Feb 1963; Increase of annual subscriptions, 24 Feb 1965.
