Description:
This is the only known instance of the use of the term 'Hull Hebrew Great Synagogue' perhaps emphasising the credentials of the Robinson Row Synagogue after the split in 1887 with the Central Synagogue. The strigils were used by the Chevra Kaddisha to clean bodies before burial.
