File contains the following miscellaneous correspondence relating to the Hull Reform Synagogue:

i) Circular sent by Peter S. Barnett as Chairman of Hull Reform Synagogue giving notice and issuing invitation to the whole Jewish Community in Hull that the Jewish Cemetery on Tranby Lane, Anlaby, is to be consecrated on 13 Jun 1974 by Rabbi Douglas Charing, and that the cemetery is available to any deceased Jewish resident of the Beverley District Council, and non-residents by arrangement, typescript, May 1974;

ii) Letter sent by Marcus H. Bower as Chairman of the Reform Synagogues of Great Britain to Dr Lionel Kopelowitz as President of the Board of Deputies of British Jews, relating to the 'Hull problem, the kernel of which is the refusal of the Representative Council to admit a Reform convert as a delegate', and suggesting that Kopelowitz' advice and help is still needed in this matter, typescript, 17 Oct 1988. iii) Copy letter sent by Mr Leslie Sugarman as Secretary of Hull Reform Synagogue to Mr Barrie Donn as Secretary of Hull Jewish Representative Council regarding the situation following a recent meeting between the Synagogue Council and the Executive of Hull Jewish Representative Council to discuss a letter of resignation sent by the Reform Synagogue, typescript, 5 Feb 1991;

iv) Copy letter sent by Mr Les Sugarman as Secretary of Hull Reform Synagogue to Mrs Avril Rowland at Hull Jewish Representative Council informing her of a Synagogue Council decision to tender the resignation of Hull Reform Synagogue from the Hull Jewish Representative Council, and providing the reasons for this decision, typescript with manuscript annotations, c.1990;

v) Copy letter sent by Mr Les Sugarman as Secretary of Hull Reform Synagogue to Mrs Avril Rowland at Hull Jewish Representative Council informing her of a Synagogue Council decision to commence negotiations to rejoin the Hull Jewish Representative Council, typescript with manuscript annotations, 20 Jun 1993;

vi) Photocopy of a letter sent by Avril Rowland as President of Hull Jewish Representative Council to Mr L. Sugarman as Secretary of Hull Reform Synagogue relating to various conditions needing to be fulfilled before the application of Hull Reform Synagogue for membership of the Representative Council can be confirmed, typescript, 26 Jun 1994.
