- File contains papers relating to the Delhi Street Cemetery at Hedon Road. The cemetery was used by the Hull Old Hebrew Congregation from 1858. In 1903 it became used by the Hull Western Synagogue and was enlarged in 1907. It is still currently used by the Hull Hebrew Congregation of Pryme Street Synagogue following the amalgamation of the Old Hebrew and Western Congregations in 1993. Papers include notices regarding the proposed widening of Hedon Road and it's effect on the cemetery in the 1990s, correpondence regarding the work required in 2002, photographs and negatives of the cemetery and of individual graves, bound transcript of momumental inscriptions produced by the East Yorkshire Family History Society enclosed with which are two CDs containing images of the monumental inscriptions (note that the first disk contains 874 images and covers graves 1-599 in the transcript, the second disk contains 804 images and covers graves 599-1130), bound transcript of monumental inscriptions produced by Jack Allerston over the period 1985-1993, correspondence, site plans and maps, plans of burial plots, Schedule of deeds relating to the cemetery dated 1929 and photocopies of deeds relating to the site, press cuttings, research notes made by Dr David Lewis regarding the history of the cemetery and copies of conveyances for the purchase of additional land. Compiled during the course of research by David Lewis as Administrator of Hull Jewish Archive.
