The volume details the principle financial transactions of the Humber Conservancy Commissioners. An alphabetical index can be found at the front of the volume.

This includes contributions made to the Conservancy by Hull Corporation, Hull Trinity House, the Hull Dock Company, the Aire and Calder Navigation, and various railway companies with operations in the Humber region. It also details salary and expenses payments made to the Conservator of the Humber (John Bertie Cator); the Clerk to the Humber Conservancy (Edward Shimells Wilson)); the Office Keeper (Rachel Hercliff); Messrs Sacré and William Hammond Bartholomew [Joint Engineers to the Commissioners]; and John Craig (Clerk of the Works at Reads Island).

Conservancy expenses detailed in the volume includes: Reads Island; Sundries; Dredging; the removal of wrecks and obstructions; Parliamentary Bills; election of Commissioners; Bye-Laws (Explosives); office rent; and Foreshores.

Fianancial transactions such as a mortgage for affecting improvements to Reads Island, mortgages made by the Commissioners, rent collected from land and property, and payments to contractors are detailed in the volume. Summaries of annual accounts, the Sinking Fund, and Government Stock have also been included.
