Humber Conservancy Bill, 1876: Proceedings (House of Lords)

Reference No:
C DPD/1/2/3/10/4
Dates:
1876
Description:

The volume contains Minutes of Proceedings, and related papers, connected with the progress of the Humber Conservancy Bill through the House of Lords between 23 May and 16 June 1876. This includes petitions against the Bill (pages 1–20).

The Minutes of Proceedings taken before the Select Committee on Private Bills in the House of Lords are divided up by Minutes of Evidence and Minutes of Speeches; they comprise the majority of the volume (pages 21–280). An index to these proceedings can be found on pages 21–24.

Three maps have also been included in the volume (pages 281–286):

1. Humber Conservancy: Inland Communications in Connection Plan No. 1—this map towns the cities and towns connected with the Humber via either rail or inland waterways [see C DPD/1/2/3/10/6 for a loose copy].

2. Humber Conservancy: Plan No.2—this map shows the area under the jurisdiction of the Humber Conservancy Commissioners–the area from Spurn Point to Goole on the River Ouse and Keadby on the River Trent [see C DPD/1/2/3/10/7 for a loose copy].

3. Humber Conservancy: Plan Showing Position of Wrecks: an annotated version of the previous plan to show (known) wrecks in the Humber as of 1876.
