The folder contains original returns of the number of vessels passing up and down the Humber at Hessle between 5 January and 7 June 1883. The tally for each day is broken down into the following: steam ships, sailing ships, tugs (including the number of craft or ships in tow when applicable), and small craft. Weather observations have also been included for each day.
In addition, the folder also contains a blank copy of the form used and a print summary covering 5 January to 31 May 1883.
