- The file comprises correspondence, sent (and received) by the Engineer to the Humber Conservancy Board (Arthur Ernest Butterfield), to/from the Chloride Electrical Storage Company Limited on the subject of the replacement of eighteen chloride cells on the Spurn Lightship [HCB LV 12] whilst the vessel was in dock for its regular overhaul. The chloride cells provided the necessary electrical current for the three fog signals in use on the Lightship, and also provided electric current for wireless use. It also includes discussion of the Company's desire to feature the Spurn Lightship in their Christmas Edition of the Company Magazine.
