The file consists of correspondence, sent (and received) by the Engineer to the Humber Conservancy Board (Arthur Ernest Butterfield), to/from various contractors and suppliers on the subject of maintenance and repair work required to be undertaken on barns and stables at Island Farm, Broomfleet following damage caused by fire. A specifications for the required works is included within the file. The file includes details of fires in the farmhouse kitchen in 1929, and a fire in the barns and stables in 1935.
Further specifications in the file include: a specification (July 1929) detailing requirements for the construction of three reinforced concrete tanks at the farm, and a specification (October 1929) outlining the conversion of the Foldyard Shed at the farm into a fourteen stall cow house dated October 1929.
