- The file consists of correspondence, sent (and received) by the Engineer to the Humber Conservancy Board (Arthur Ernest Butterfield), to/from various local authorities, boat owners, and others on the following topics: pumping station and outfall construction at Pyewipe, Grimsby; the demolition and breaking up of various vessels at various locations throughout the Humber; problems mooring small boats at Hessle Haven and the difficulties this is causing for the shipbuilder Henry Scarr Limited (especially the launching of newly built vessels); a proposed reservoir and intake pipe at Salt End for Shell, Mex, and British Petroleum Limited; an outfall at Welton; and a proposed new sewage outfall to the East of Alexandra Dock.
