Dates:
13 Sep 1937-1 Dec 1945
Description:
Correspondence between the engineer to the Humber Conservancy Board, various plant hire companies, the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries, Lincoln, and Mr Popple, South Ferriby, Lincs. regarding embankment repair work and other works on Read’s Island in the River Humber. The south bank embankment of the Island was the main concern regarding flooding on the Island (although cattle on the Island were also a problem, trampling the bank down). File includes maps of the damaged embankments, a map of the Island, and a lease of Read’s Island, dated 15th April 1916.
