File comprises correspondence between the engineer to the Humber Conservancy Board, the Secretary of the Board, and mariners, regarding a variety of works carried out in the Upper River Humber System. These include the repositioning of various gas floats and lightships, lists showing monthly inspections of the various lightstations within the upper Humber, re-marking of the navigable channels after the formation of shoals within the River, correspondence with jetty owners regarding inefficient lighting on their jetties, lists of fuel usage for the Board’s vessels Conservancy and Rosemary, lists showing comparisons to the entrance to the River Trent, beginning 1 year after the completion of the Trent training wall, etc.
