- Description:
- File comprises correspondence between the engineer to the Humber Conservancy Board, the Hydrographic Department (Admiralty), London, the Ordnance Survey Office, Surrey, the Port Masters, Grimsby Hull and Goole Docks, and various shipping companies, regarding surveys carried out by the Board’s vessels, at various locations of the Rivers Humber and Ouse systems. Some of the river channel’s depths of water deteriorate very quickly (e.g. the Humber Ferry Channel at Middle Sand), and as a result the Board issues various notices to mariners, regarding alterations to the various channels within the river system.
