Description:: File comprises correspondence between the engineer to the Humber Conservancy Board, various equipment and spare parts suppliers, various ship repair companies, Marconi International Marine Communications Co. Ltd. Hull, and the Ministry of Transport, London, regarding the operation, repair (after collision by passing vessels) and maintenance of the Spurn Lightship. There appears to be regular problems with pump wear on the Lightship. Also includes correspondence regarding the difficulties in obtaining competent crew members, as well as correspondence regarding a visit of RAF personnel based at RAF Patrington to the Lightship.
