- The file comprises correspondence, sent (and received) by the Engineer to the Humber Conservancy Board (Arthur Ernest Butterfield), to/from the Chairman of the Maritime Committee and companies supplying explosives used in the removal of some wrecks. The subject matter is concerned with wrecks (and the recovery of them) at various locations throughout the Humber and, in some cases, wrecks in the various docks. The file includes details connected with the removal of the following wrecks: the schooner 'Friendship' near the Spurn Lighthouse and Bull Lightship, the Ketch 'Annie' which sank near Grimsby, and the 'Ethel' which sank near Hessle.
