File 601 'W. S. Wright'

Reference No:
C DPD/1/3/5/1/275
Dates:
8 Jan 1946-15 Aug 1950
Description:
File comprises correspondence between the engineer to the Humber Conservancy Board, various ship repair companies, the Keel and Lighter Owners Association, Hull, and the Humber Pilot’s Office, Hull regarding the repair and maintenance of the Board’s steam launch W.S. Wright and includes specifications for this work. Also includes correspondence regarding the proposed sale of the vessel which was built in 1913. There did not appear to be many prospective purchasers for this vessel. Includes sorrespondence regarding a possible collision in the Old Harbour, Hull, between the W.S. Wright which was towing the Lower Whitton Light Vessel at the time, and the Gilyott No. 15 Lighter, which was also being towed. From the correspondence, both sides appear to be blaming each other for the apparent collision.
