Comprises correspondence between the Chief Engineer to the Humber Conservancy Board, the Docks and Harbour Authorities, London, and various oil and petroleum companies operating in the River Humber System, regarding the Oil In Navigable Waters Act, 1955. Includes information on the Lloyd’s certificate of maintenance for each vessel which convey petroleum spirit, etc., within the River Humber System, as well as correspondence regarding the success and failure of various methods used in dealing with oil spillages and pollution within the river and also on beaches, and reports of various spillages and pipe bursts at Saltend and Killingholme.
